The Content Management market place is crowded with special purpose providers who are dedicated to managing content . So why has The CMSDK Group choosen Oracle to provide our foundation technology? The answer is simple:
Content management must be an integrated component of a total information management strategy. It must support your existing databases, your departmental applications, your corporate systems. It must be accessible from the web, from the desktop, and from your middle tier. The Principals of The CMSDK Group have participated in the evolution of information technology since the 1970s. We have a long term perspective on the future of information technology and it is obvious to us that the responsibility for strategic, unifying applications is falling to the major platform providers. The CMSDK Group believes that, of these major platform vendors, Oracle offers the broadest and most robust infrastructure upon which to build a comprehensive content management implementation.
Oracle's Content Management Systems Development Kit (CMSDK) is a standard component of Oracle Application Server 10g. CMSDK provides a configurable off-the-shelf (COTS) content management solution portfolio for developing content oriented applications. Its capabilities include features for security, versioning, folders, check-in and check-out, workflow, search and retrieval, and extensible metadata. A CMSDK repository can be accessed through a wide variety of interfaces such as Windows, HTTP, FTP, SMB/NTFS, NFS, and WebDAV.
